Ericsson 2G OSS Command
MCOM 4.2 Tool
Mobile Communications Network Application (MCOM) was first introduced as a Mapbasic application tool to create a graphical representation of a mobile network in MapInfo.
Starting version 3.0, MCOM has become a stand-alone application. MCOM acts as an OLE client with MapInfo running in the background. This allows MCOM to have the flexibility and versatility to integrate new functions that MapBasic cannot provide.
In this latest version, you get the similar user-interface as in MapInfo plus the additional ND/NPI tools.
MCOM's features can be categorised into following groups:
·
Cell-Planning
Tools
·
Drive
Test Analysis Tools [GSM only]
·
STS
Analysis Tools
·
Site
database handling allows user to create a new site, edit or deleting existing
sites on spot. [New]
·
Site
Editor allows user to change all the site data including adding or deleting new
cell. MCOM will redraw the site immediately after you apply the changes.
·
Quick
frequency change. Edit and redraw carrier data of a selected cell immediately.
·
Able
to locate a site with given Site Id.
·
Able
to Show neighbours of a user-selected cell.
·
Able
to show co-BCCH, co-channel & adjacent cells of a user-selected frequency
or cell for GSM network. User can select more than one frequency at a time.
·
Able
to show co-Control Channel, co-channel & adjacent cells of a user-selected
frequency or cell for TDMA network. User can select more than one frequency at
a time. [Enhanced]
·
User
can select more than one frequency at a time to show the interference. [New]
·
Able
to show cells with given BSIC/Color Code.
·
Able
to show cells with given Frequency Group [TDMA only]
·
User
customised colours for all show layers.
·
Able
to Import Cell information and display it graphically.
·
Able
to import the Map vector data (e.g. roads, coast, river etc.) from TCP/EET map
database into MapInfo format using the Import Wizard. [New]
·
Able
to Export MCOM2001 databases to text database files.
Drive Test Analysis Tools
MCOM2001 provides an all-in-one box Drive Test Analysis tool to assist in drive test analysis based on TEMS logs. This feature is currently available for GSM TEMS logs only.
A summary of Drive Test Analysis features is listed below:
·
All-in-one
box control, DrvTest Navigator (similar to TEMS Replay log file control).
·
Display
drive-test data in DrvTest View.
·
Able
to show serving cell on the map.
·
Able
to Play, Step forward & backward drive test log files.
·
Able
to jump to any drive test point and start playing from there.
·
Auto
creates signal strength & quality layers upon loading GIMS Geographical Information
Mobile Surveys by Ericsoft log files.
·
Able
to display the signal strength plot of a single selected cell.
·
User-customised
drive test thematic properties.
·
Able
to support Signal Strength unit in either dBm or GSM.
STS Analysis
Tools
MCOM2001 provides useful tools for STS analysis as well. MCOM2001
uses the same STS Database file as another Statistical Tool namely, Statics
Statistical Tool by Chan Huan Kean.
MCOM2001 also supports statistics data created by SPOS and Turtle
program. Before importing the STS Data from these tools, a STS database must be
created.
A summary of these tools is listed below:
A summary of these tools is listed below:
- Cell Level Statistics View.
- Handover Relation Statistics View.
- STS Navigator for displaying user customized
statistical reports on a geographical map.
Ericsson Counter : Dropped Calls
TFNDROP : The total number of
dropped full-rate TCH in underlaid subcell. The counter is also available for
half-rate and for overlaid subcells, e.g. THNDROPSUB.
TFNCEDROP : The total number of
dropped full rate TCH connections in underlaid subcell that occur when a
subscriber to subscriber connection has already been established. The
establishment of subscriber to subscriber connection is assured if the
connection is
dropped between the DTAP messages CONNECT ACKNOWLEDGE and RELEASE or DISCONNECT
(whichever of RELEASE or DISCONNECT comes first).
TFDISTA : Total number of
dropped full-rate TCH connections at excessive TA. Also available for
half-rate, e.g. THDISTA.
TFDISSSUL : Total number of
dropped full-rate TCH connection at low signal strength on uplink in underlaid
subcell i.e. below LOWSSUL. Different combinations for overlaid subcell,
up/down and both-way link and half-rate, e.g. THDISSSBLSUBis the signal strength drop counter for
half-rate, both links in overlaid subcell. If both links have low signal
strength, only the both link counters are stepped.
TFDISFERUL : Total number of
dropped full-rate TCH connections at high FER on uplink in underlaid subcell
i.e. worse than (above) HIGHFERULFR. Different combinations for overlaid
subcell, up/down and both-way link and codec, e.g. THDISFERBLSUB is the
bad quality drop counter
for half-rate, both links in overlaid subcell. If both links have bad quality,
only the both link counters are stepped.
TFDISQAUL : Total number of
dropped TCH connection due to bad quality based on RXQUAL on uplink in underlaid subcell i.e. worse than (above) BADQUL. Different combinations for
overlaid subcell, up/down and bothway link and half-rate, e.g. THDISQABLSUBis the
bad quality drop counter for half-rate, both links in overlaid subcell. If both
links have bad quality, only the both link counters are stepped.
TFSUDLOS : Sudden loss of
connection in underlaid subcell. Sudden loss apply when the locating algorithm
indicates missing measurement results, but none of the urgency conditions
mentioned above (that is excessive TA, low signal strength, high FER or bad
quality) apply. The counter is also available for half-rate and for overlaid subcells,
e.g. THSUDLOSSUB.
T_DR_BQ : The rate of TCH
drops at bad quality on either uplink, downlink or both for the whole cell.
T_DR_FER : The rate of TCH
drops at high FER on either uplink, downlink or both for the whole cell.
T_DR_TA : The rate of TCH
drops due to excessive Timing Advance for the whole cell.
T_DR_SUD : The rate of TCH drops
due to sudden loss of the connection for the whole cell.
T_DR_OTH : The rate of TCH
drops due to other reasons than the above known reasons.
TFDISTAA : Total number of
dropped AMR full-rate TCH connections at excessive TA. Also available for
half-rate, e.g. THDISTAA .
TFDISSULA : Total number of
dropped AMR full-rate TCH connections due to low signal strength on uplink in
underlaid subcell i.e. below LOWSSUL. Different combinations for overlaid
subcell, up/down/both links and half-rate, e.g. THDISSBLSUBAis the
signal strength drop counter for AMR
half-rate, both links in overlaid subcell. If both links have low signal
strength, only the both link counters are stepped.
TFDISFERULA : Total
number of dropped AMR full rate TCH connections at high FER on uplink in
underlaid subcell. Different combinations for overlaid subcell, up/down and both-way
link and codec, e.g. THDISFERBLSUBA is the bad quality drop counter for AMR half-rate, both links in
overlaid subcell. If both links have bad quality, only the both link counters
are stepped.
TFDISQAULA : Total number of
dropped AMR full-rate TCH connections at bad quality on uplink in underlaid
subcell. Different combinations for overlaid subcell, up/down/both links and
half-rate, e.g. THDISQABLSUBAis the bad quality drop counter for AMR half-rate, both links in
overlaid subcell. If both links have bad quality, only the both link counters
are stepped.
TFSUDLOSA : Sudden loss of AMR
full-rate connection in underlaid subcell. Sudden loss apply when the locating
algorithm indicates missing measurement results, but none of the urgency
conditions mentioned above (that is excessive TA, low signal strength, high FER
or bad quality) apply. The counter is also available for AMR half-rate and for overlaid
subcells, e.g. THSUDLOSSUBA.
