Google launches Camera app with multiple features: will work on Android KitKat devices
Recently Google has now launched its camera app for Android 4.4+ KitKat devices. It is available as a free download through the Play Store for Android phone or tablet that makes it easy to take quick photos and videos. This Camera app allows users to shoot SLR camera-like photos with shallow depth of field, the app includes a big 100% viewfinder for getting the maximum resolution from the sensor and an extra large capture button and different picture modes can be accessed by simply swiping from left to right on the screen.
Google camera contains creative picture modes like Photo Sphere, Lens Blur and Panorama.
Google has added something called Lens Focus, which lets you selectively choose which spot of the picture has to be in focus. You can even adjust this after you have shot the picture. In Lens Focus mode, Google requires you to keep the subject centered and move the camera along the vertical or horizontal axis as may be the case.
Google's Research blog has explains that It lets you take a photo with a shallow depth of field using just your Android phone or tablet. Unlike a regular photo, Lens Blur lets you change the point or level of focus after the photo is taken. You can choose to make any object come into focus simply by tapping on it in the image. By changing the depth-of-field slider, you can simulate different aperture sizes, to achieve bokeh (depth-of-field) effects ranging from subtle to surreal (e.g., tilt-shift). The new image is rendered instantly, allowing you to see your changes in real time."
